Wild Grape or Valli Manga is the fruit of a creeper found in the tropical forests of the Western Ghats. It's a medicinal plant whose roots and stem are used in Ayurvedic medicines. It tastes like raw mango and is mainly used to make pickles, toss up a salad, or prepare tangy chammanthies (chutney prepared using coconut and green chilies). Wild Grape in Brine is somewhat similar to our Uppu Manga. The fruit peel paste is found to be very effective for inflammation on the hands and legs.
